«Oceanographic Atlas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov» No. 601

The Oceanologic Centre with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine present the "Oceanographic Atlas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov". Atlas is the first in Ukraine complex charting edition of this sort and it is an important milestone in the decades-long creative cooperation of Ukrainian oceanologists, hydrographers and cartographers.

The "Oceanographic Atlas" contains complex scientific information on the state of the environment and the main peculiarities of the Black and Azov Seas. Its charts reproduce in great detail the oceanologic, climatic, hydrographic and other characteristics of these seas.

The "Oceanographic Atlas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov" will contribute to information support provision for marine economic activity and scientific research in this region and management decisions taken by administrations of various levels, and will also be helpful for organisation heads, practitioners, scientists, teachers and students.

«Atlas of Hydrography and Oceanography of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov», No. 602

Atlas of Hydrography and Oceanography of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov is the second specialized comprehensive publication containing charts and scientific articles on state of the water environment and the main features of the hydrography and oceanography of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The new atlas harmoniously supplemented and expanded the Oceanographic Atlas of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov № 601, which was issued by the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine in 2009 as a result of the SHSU cooperation with Sevastopol Oceanological Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The publication contains detailed data on the state of the environment and the main features of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, which were not included in the previous edition.

Scientific articles and charts with a high degree of reliability and detail, created on the basis of the most comprehensive data sets, illustrate and represent the oceanographic, climatic, hydrological, hydrographic and other characteristics of the seas. For educational and informative purposes, the atlas comprises an extensive study of the history of charting of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov region from the ancient times to date, provides schemes of port waters and areas of responsibility of the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine.

The publication will be useful for professionals and other readers interested in informational support of maritime activities, for research in the Black Sea and the Azov Sea region and support of management decisions made by administrations at various levels as well as a source of professional information for managers, subprofessionals, researchers, professors and students of relevant specializations, interested in this subject.
