Album of Nautical Charts “Odesa to Bosporus Strait. Navigational and Hydrographic Overview” is intended for yachtsmen and issued in the world reference system WGS-84 in the user-friendly format. The album contains pilot descriptions for the full route, required for sailing along the coasts, Rules of Navigation for Small, Sports and Leisure Vessels for different scale charts.

Route charts are used for general study of the navigation area and route identification in the open sea; partial charts and plans are intended for sailing along coast and for anchorage areas, roadsteads, bays, harbors, ports approach from seaward as well as movement within their limits. Convenient anchorages and harbors for yachts as well as yacht clubs location are shown on the charts, and the text gives the necessary information about them. Illustrative photos of navigation marks, conspicuous objects and views add their visual presentation.

The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine has issued new editions of paper nautical charts 3228 (INT3812) and 3406. Consequently, NCs 3228 (INT3812) (2008), 3406 (2009) are no longer adequate for navigational purposes.

The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine prepares and publishes Notices to Mariners of Ukraine (NtM of Ukraine) in order to provide mariners with navigational, hydrographic and reference information which is necessary to keep charts and nautical publications up-to-date.

The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine advises mariners to use only official charts and guides to navigation issued by the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine and avoid using any unofficial publications for navigational purposes.
   Mariners should keep in mind that only officially issued charts and guides are consistently updated in keeping with the notices to mariners and radiobroadcasted navigational warnings, which consequently ensures that updated charts and publications are appropriately up-to-date.
   In case of incidents which may occur as a result of using unofficial publications, navigators are subject to application of appropriate sanctions.

No. 3003 «World Time Zones Chart» at a scale of 1:45 000 000.

The presented World Time Zones Chart gives modern idea of the zone time system.

It reflects the earth surface division into time zones, shows time zone limits on land and at sea, allows to determine the time in which a person is situated. Zone time numeration is indicated near the upper and the lower frames. Time zone limits extend from the upper to the lower frame through the continents and seas. The chart text gives the necessary concepts of the time zones system for the chart usage and time determination knowledge.

The chart will be of service to schoolchildren, students of specialized institutions, navigators, tourists, voyagers, organizations and all concerned.

The chart is issued in Ukrainian and English.

The State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine has developed and issued electronic navigational charts of the Pivdennyi Buh River from Voznesensk to Mykolaiv at a scale of 1:10 000 (23 files).

In accordance with the IHO requirements as to cartographic products quality, the State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine provides measures intended for layered verification and testing of ENC files. Such verification and testing are performed to ensure the compliance with the current international standards for official nautical and inland waterway charts of Ukraine. Besides, the SHSU carries out analysis and detection of errors in the software other than that utilized in production of national electronic charts.

In particular, ENCs were verified, analyzed and optimized for compliance with the following standards:

• Specification for Inland ENCs, edition 2.3;
• Presentation Library for Inland ECDIS, edition 2.1;
• Recommended Check of Inland ENCs, edition 2.3.5;
• Inland ENC Feature Catalogue, edition 2.0;
• Inland ECDIS Standard for Inland Navigation, edition 2.0.

Data optimization was decided to be implemented in accordance with ENC SCAMIN policy as defined by S-57 – Use of the Object Catalogue for ENC, edition 3.1 and S-58 ENC Validation Checks, edition 5.0.

The optimized ENCs, ENC cells, Ukrainian inland waterway charts and files of the relevant amendments and supplements hereto (updating files) are available and provided to users.

The half-yearly publication «Journal of State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine» acquaints the readers with achievements of the national hydrography.

The technology «Print-on-Demand» has been implemented for constant keeping national portfolio up-to-date and satisfying demands of customers.
